So I'm surfing myspace today and I happen to find this letter. This letter made me laugh and made me realize that we have nothing to fear from anime haters because they are just pathetic beings which have no knowledge on the issue, arguing purely on feelings and that anime 'offends' them. This is the letter, for the weak of heart, please stop reading.
Ooo, the dark land of Japan! How mysterious and EVIL! Japan has plans to take over the world by organizing the children of the world into a military force capable of destroying the whole world! MWAHAHAHAHAHA.
Jokes aside, this guy is purely an idiot which has no knowledge of anime. I imagine him as probably some parent who THINKS he’s being responsible by removing the EVIL anime from our shores. This has to be, by far, the most ignorant anime-bashing letter I’ve ever seen in my whole life. He starts out with the amazing fact that he actually knows the name of what he is arguing about, which is a good sign. But from then on his arguments are all downhill as he vainly tries to influence the reader by using a morphed fabricated version of what he believes Anime is and what it is doing to our society.
First of all, he wants to ban ALL anime by the works of a few series. This would be the equivalent of saying that we should kill everyone who is in the Middle East and all of the followers of Islam because of the work of a few terrorists on 9/11.
Second of all Anime hardly matches up to some of the filth South Park, Grand Theft Auto, and especially Internet Porn produces each and every day. Would removing Anime make any difference? If Anime is as evil as you say, what is keeping us from going on the internet and watching things far worse than that?
Oh wait, I forgot. You’re a dumbass and I have to speak in simpler terms for you to understand what I am saying.
Quit wasting your time.

Here in America, we live in a climate of moral decay. What is the cause of this? It is called "anime". Anime is a perverse, evil, insiduous form of animation from the dark land of Japan, and is corrupting America's youth at unprecedented rates. Here are a few examples of anime which are circulating on the Internet and may very well be in your home:
1) Ah My Goddess: A sick and disgusting show which causes children under the age of 18 to think they are capable of love. The main female character is clearly under 18, and is forced into a romantic relationship by an older man who "wishes" for her to be his girlfriend forever. He even KISSES her, and she appears NAKED. That poor girl must be so confused.
2) Love Hina: I'm not even going to mention the unspeakable, disgusting, pedophilic, pornograhpic events which transpire during this show, but suffice it to say, groups of young men on Love Hina-fueled rampages are raping children at a level unheard of since the 60s.
If you are a parent or a decent human being, I urge you to sign this petition to ban all forms of anime in the United States. Anyone who is found in possesion of anime should be arrested and jailed for an exhorbant period of time. Anime is a dark scourge upon our beautiful nation, and we don't need this Japanese filth corrupting the hearts of the children.
As a resonsible Christian, I demand to see this garbage removed from our nation. Please sign this petition and send it to George Bush, your Congressman, and the makers/distributors of anime filth and depravity.

I just read your petition on why anime should be banned from the USA and as I read through your non-impartial letter about 'The Dark Land of Japan' and our so-called 'Anime Filth,' I realized that you have little to no idea about what you are writing about and that you are arguing precisely on feelings alone, doing no research of your own on what Anime actually is or what is supposedly doing to our youth.
First of all Anime is an art form. There are thousands of people who love to use this art form and draw anime and make cartoons and broadcast it to the world. If you don’t like it and want it changed in your life, then go live in China where people are trained not to think, but to obey. They don’t make anime.
Second of all, Anime is NOT evil as you say. So you found a few Animes that are, in your opinion, evil. There are hundreds, I mean hundreds of anime series out there that do not focus on the object of love. Do you think they should all suffer the same treatment just because of the works of a few anime writers? I think not.
3rd of all, We are granted the freedom to watch Anime by the First Amendment of the Constitution, also known as the Bill of Rights. If you are against Anime then you are against the freedom of individuals to do as they please to some extent. If you are against people watching Anime in the comfort of their own homes then you are against freedom, which in turn, makes you Anti-American.
4th of all, Why Anime? If the nation is in a state of such moral decay, then why are you targeting the works of a few Anime programs that a very limited group of children watch? Why don’t you target the real enemies, which is Internet Porn, video games such as Grand Theft Auto, and TV shows such as South Park? They are the more common causes of moral decline that millions of children watch every day.
You will probably ignore this letter, disregard it as heathen propaganda, and continue your march toward the end of anime. But having the better knowledge of anime myself, I can see that you are wrong, the people who have signed your petition see that you are wrong, thus making your actions WRONG!

seriously, the writer of the letter is a complete not a very nice person, who just wants children to play in the nature and spend their freetimes in nutsty museums and that sort of nuts.
